1. Look for a suitable fabric, not an indestructible one
For a sofa used by pets, the most practical choice is fabrics with stain-resistant treatment and washable options, which make everyday cleaning easier. No fabric is scratch-proof or bite-proof: the outcome depends on the animal and its habits. Performance and cleaning instructions depend on the fabric chosen, so ask us before deciding.
2. Tell us about your pet
A cat that sharpens its claws is different from a calm dog. Tell us what your pet is like and we will guide you through the available upholstery, clearly explaining what to expect from each one.
3. Colour matters too
Mid-tones and colours similar to your pet’s coat hide pet hair better. Very light or very dark colours make it more visible.
4. Everyday cleaning
Brushing or vacuuming with an upholstery attachment removes pet hair easily. Most of our models have removable covers that can be taken off and machine washed in cold water without spinning, following the manufacturer’s instructions. For washable fabrics, water and a little neutral soap are enough. If there is a stain, clean it as soon as possible. Always check the instructions for the fabric and model chosen, as they may vary.
5. Made-to-measure sofa with storage
A made-to-measure sofa lets you adapt the size and configuration to your living room and your family, including its four-legged members. A chaise longue with storage helps store blankets, toys and cushions.
6. Try it in the store
The best way to choose a fabric is to see and touch it. Come to Sofás Descans with your living room measurements and tell us about your pet: we will help you compare upholstery and models.
